How It Works
The calculator determines two key metrics:
- Charging Cost: The total cost required to charge your electric vehicle from the current battery level to the target level, accounting for charging losses.
- Cost per 100km: The cost of driving 100 kilometers based on your vehicle's energy consumption and electricity rates.
Key Parameters
- Charging Type: Different charging options (Residential, DC Fast Charging, AC Charging) come with different electricity rates
- Electricity Price: Cost per kWh of electricity at your charging location
- Battery Capacity: Total capacity of your EV's battery in kilowatt-hours (kWh)
- Energy Consumption per 100km: How much energy your vehicle uses per 100km (kWh/100km)
- Charging Loss Rate: Percentage of energy lost during charging (typically 7% for DC, 12% for AC)
- Current Battery Level: Starting battery percentage before charging
- Target Charging Level: Desired battery percentage after charging
